As a Social Worker and member of Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS), I am bound by the requirements of my profession and my registration through SAS and the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) to keep your information and case notes confidential and secure. However, in certain situations I may be required to breach confidentiality, these situations are usually where there may be a risk to your wellbeing and/or the wellbeing of others and we are not in agreement about the action that may need to be taken. Part of my legal responsibilities is to ensure your wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of the community.
Reasons why I may breach confidentiality are:
If you are at risk of harming yourself
If there is a risk of harm to others (includes a child needing protection)
If my files are subpoenaed by a court
You have given me prior written or verbal approval to (this will be clearly case noted) :
a) provide a written or verbal report to another professional such as a GP, psychiatrist, or case manager
b) discuss the material with another person such as partner, friend or another professional
In these instances above I may be required to contact others and breach confidentiality with those including (but not limited to) healthcare services, emergency services, your emergency contact, individuals whom are at risk, officers of the court, and/or government agencies.
Ethics & Code of Conduct
To maintain my registration, I need to undertake ongoing professional development and clinical supervision. I will at times discuss cases with my clinical supervisor, but when doing this I ensure cases are always de-identified to ensure confidentiality. I am required to adhere to the SAS and AASW Code of Ethics, and National Code of Conduct for Healthcare workers. If there are any concerns about my conduct then you have a right of complaint to the Health Complaints Commissioner. Please see website FAQ for more detailed information regarding complaints processes.

Cancellation & Appointment Change Policy
Intensives Model:
A 30-day notice is required for cancellations to receive a refund of the deposit paid, minus a $750 rebooking fee. Cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled intensive are non-refundable, and the deposit is forfeit. Deposits may be used toward a rescheduled booking, and transfer requests* are allowed but require a 30-minute telehealth assessment for approval. Transfer requests* are subject to practitioner approval, and not all requests may be granted. If a transfer request is denied, the original client may reschedule or forfeit their deposit. Fees are non-reimbursable through third parties, including Medicare and private insurance.
50-Minute Model:
Prideworthy requires 48 hours’ notice for any cancellation or changes to your appointment to avoid a cancellation or appointment change fee. If less than 48 hours' notice is given, a $150 late cancellation fee will apply. If notice is provided within 24 hours of the appointment time or if an appointment is missed without any notice, a full session fee will be charged. Fees incurred under these circumstances are non-reimbursable through third parties, including Medicare and private insurance.
Insurance Rebates and Billings:
Medicare/Private Insurance Rebates:
Clients are eligible for up to 10 Medicare “Better Access”(MBA) sessions per calendar year only once they obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) issued from their GP or other eligible medical practitioner, and after having provided that documentation to their treating clinician at Prideworthy. Medicare "Better Access" (MBA) rebates are available once per day, in line with the Medicare benefit under item 80160/91176. Details regarding rebate amounts can be found via MBS online, searching these item numbers, including both the standard benefit and any EMSN (Extended. Medicare Safety Net) that may apply.
Private insurance rebates can be sought, but coverage is not guaranteed by Prideworthy, however they cannot be sought for sessions where Medicare rebates were received. Please check with your insurer for eligibility and for information on how to seek a rebate.
Couples are unfortunately not eligible for rebates through Medicare or private cover.
Billings:
You will be charged the full fee on the day of appointment and will receive a Medicare rebate (if you have a current MHCP from your GP) in your Medicare-connected bank account only once the fee is processed. You may alternatively be eligible for a rebate from select Private Health Insurances (BUPA, Teachers Health Fund), please check with your insurer for eligibility. Fees billed for missed appointments, cancellations are ineligible for Medicare rebate.
All fees, deposits, cancellation/no-show fees, rebooking fees will ideally be paid via bank transfer (details provided on invoice). However, clients agree when booking to provide a credit/debit card to be kept on file for payment to be billed to in the event that invoices go unpaid, and acknowledge that any fee can be charged to the card on file if bank transfer does not occur. Credit or DebitCard information will be taken below and securely stored within client management software (Stripe) for billing purposes in line with our cancellation policy. Invoices are issued at the start of the week and payment on the day of your session is encouraged via direct deposit.
Intensive Model specific terms:
Inclusions:
Above fees are inclusive of workbook, comprehensive assessment and treatment planning, resourcing, EMDR therapy Intensives delivery (in person only), and an in person or online follow-up assessment to be conducted within 30 days after the intensive
Additionally, (1) pre & post follow-up contact with your primary therapist (should you consent to this) subject to their availability. One attempt at each will be made to book this in and cannot be guaranteed if their availability does not align with the time offer to them by a Prideworthy practitioner.
Deposit: 50% of the total booking cost is required at the time of booking.
Booking Requirements:
A minimum booking of two days is required for new clients participating in intensive sessions. The recommended duration will be provided during the 30-minute exploration session (via telehealth) and a quote with this detail will be sent as a follow up.
Rescheduling/Transfer Requests*: While cancellations are non-refundable, your deposit can be used toward a rescheduled booking or you may transfer your booking to another person, please note that transfer requests will require a 30-minute telehealth assessment of the person you wish to transfer the session to. This request is subject to approval by Prideworthy, and not all clients may be eligible. If a transfer is denied, you may reschedule your appointment, or forfeit your deposit.
* A “transfer request” allows someone else (partner, family member, friend, etc.) to attend your booked sessions, but the new person must first complete a free 30-minute telehealth assessment. The practitioner will decide if the new person is suitable for the sessions. If denied, the original client can reschedule or forfeit their deposit, as only one alternate client will be assessed.
